Pakistan’s Brutal & Wild Character in Pakistani Occupied Kashmir

It is with enormous regret to note that Pakistan once again is showing her real vicious character and wild face in areas of Kashmir which she forcibly occupies against the will and wishes of Kashmiri masses.

As we have now and again stressed that it was basically Pakistan who due to her mischievous misadventure in 1947 created Kashmir problem under the influence of Imperialist Great Britain. Basic objective of the whole exercise was to create such a situation which would in future tarnish relationship between India and Pakistan thus to create an environment which would lead the whole region to wars, unrest, poverty and underdevelopment.

Pakistan created the problem and India was trapped in to react in a way that both countries became head-on in Kashmir in 1947 and the situation continues and it is exactly how imperialism had planned.

Kashmir conflict gave nothing to India, Pakistan and Kashmiries but it did serve the imperialist motives. Both India and Pakistan have always been trying to capture whole of Kashmir and have made Kashmir issue as a matter of their state prestige and point of national ego. This situation took away all rights from Kashmiries and both India and Pakistan have tried their best to strengthen their clutch over Kashmir by using all unfair, undemocratic and inhumane methods.

Pakistan being an undemocratic and autocratic society and having pathetic position in the conflict has always tried to crush Kashmiries at all levels and has never allowed any civil liberties in the occupied territories under her control. On the other hand India being a bit more viable country has rather used more sophisticated and civic means to extend the control over Kashmir.

The most recent episode which Pakistan is unleashing in Kashmir under her occupation is the worst of all. First Pakistan annexed Pakistani occupied Gilgit-Baltistan and thus practically burying the Kashmir issue; then began working on a plan to place a government of her own choice and consisting of Non-State parties in Pakistani occupied Azad Kashmir which could approve and rubber stamp Pakistan's unconstitutional, undemocratic and confiscating acts.

JKNAP and JKNSF have been the only political forces in territories of Pakistani occupied Kashmir who have always opposed any sort of external interference into the political, civil and financial infrastructure of Pakistani occupied Kashmir. But unfortunately the State political forces that always directly benefit from such patriotic and national stance from JKNSF and JKNAP have always co-ordinated with occupying forces and compromised their independence, dignity and self esteem for petty financial interests.

The game which Pakistan is nowadays playing in Pakistani occupied Azad Kashmir is very dangerous and if allowed to be exercised will have very long run negative effects on the geo-political situation of Kashmir under Pakistani occupation. To ditch the democracy in POAK, Pakistan first on the gun point coerced Sardar Yaqub to resign. And now ground is being prepared by Pakistan for massive horse trading during the election to the office of the prime minister on October 22, 2009 that will deprive the members of the assembly of their right to vote.
Horse trading, coercion and influence-vending is being exercised to control the government of Muzaffarabad. Pakistan is playing all back-door bargains to achieve political ends.

People, all spite of their short lived memories, still remember how government of Sardar Atique Ur Rehman was toppled down with direct interference from Pakistan and a coalition of various State and Non-State parties was given power under the leadership of a very weak and fragile prime minister to give more control to Non-State parties. This interference from occupier Pakistan was opposed by JKNSF and JKNAP along with the aggrieved and deposed prime minister Sardar Atique Ur Rehman. But the problem is that all such aggrieved leaders forget what ever occupiers did to them in the past once they are given some fresh incentive. We stress that still it is not too late and leaders of Pakistani occupied Kashmir should open their eyes now. We urge that a joint strategy should be evolved by all State parties to stop Pakistan meddling into the affairs of legislative assembly of Pakistani occupied Azad Kashmir.

JKNAP and JKNSF have announced to protest against the interference of Pakistan into the affairs of Pakistani occupied Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistani occupied Azad Kashmir. On 24 October 2009 JKNAP and JKNSF will siege legislative assembly of POAK and will stage a sit-in to condemn the annexation of POGB and the horse trading being done by Pakistan to control legislative assembly of POAK.

Pakistani federal ministers are making trips to POAK on almost a daily basis to buy the loyalties of the MLAs to put in place a government of their own choice. MLAs are being offered up to Rs 40 million each to vote for the candidate of Pakistan's choice. In fact Pakistan is deliberately creating a situation of crisis in POAK and has set a stage to rig the results of the office of the prime minister by all foul means. And in case Pakistan fails to achieve the required results, Pakistan is seriously considering using article 56 to directly control POAK's political set up.

We appreciate the courage being shown by MLAs against this onslaught from Pakistan and hope that they will not compromise on principles and will not let anyone buy them against their own national interests.

JKNAP and JKNSF demand that:

POGB must not be annexed as a Pakistani province
Unconstitutional Act of 1974 must immediately be scrapped
Karachi Pact which gave Gilgit-Baltistan into Pakistani control must be nullified
Elections for the Constitutional Assemblies in POAK and POGB must immediately be held
A confederation of POAK and POGB be immediately formulated
All lent officers from Pakistan like chief secretary, IGP and accountant general must be returned to Pakistan
All interference into the political, public and social spectrums of POAK and POGB from Pakistan must be halted
Government of POAK must be recognised as a legitimate representative government of the liberated territories and
A transparent, free, fair and independent plebiscite (giving Kashmiries a choice to vote for total independence from both Pakistan and India too) must be held to decide the future of Jammu Kashmir

We urge all State political forces to join hands with JKNAP and JKNSF to stop Pakistan playing with the free will of Kashmiri masses; and remember if the sensitivity of the situation is not realised, Pakistan will feel free to install government of their choice against the wishes of the people of POAK. Let us ignore the past differences and unite together to defeat occupying forces. If we wish to give a democratic future to our next generations, unity among State political forces against all Non-State elements and so called political parties is the only way which can guarantee peace, prosperity and development in Kashmir.
