JKNAP and JKNSF Leaders Released but Protest in Bradford (UK) to go-ahead

JKNAP and JKNSF Leaders Released but 09 November Protest Outside Pakistani Consulate in Bradford to Go-Ahead

THANKFULNESS TO ALL THOSE WHO SUPPORTED US ON THE ARREST OF JKNAP AND JKNSF LEADERS

All four leaders of JKNAP and JKNSF who were arrested on 24 October in Muzaffarabad as Pakistan Army and Police clashed with JKNAP and JKNSF rally, were released yesterday on 28 October 2009.

Authorities released all arrested leaders immediately as JKNAP, JKNSF and JKNIA warned Pakistani establishment in POK to either release the arrested leaders or face a siege of Pakistani Missions in the UK and other European countries.

Release of JKNAP and JKNSF leaders is a proof that the FIRs registered against them were bogus and it was a mere planning to persecute JKNAP and JKNSF.

Leaders of JKNAP (UK) President Professor Sajjad Raja, Chief Organiser Azad Raja, General Secretary Shahid Hashmi, Senior Vice President Ikram Mir, Vice President Zaheer Ahmed Ghori, Deputy General Secretary Waheed Ahmed Malik, Joint Secretary Sardar Zameer, Chairman Media Board Nadeem Aslam, Chairman Finance Board Mohsan Qureshi, Deputy Chief Organiser Asghar Malik, and spokes person of JKNSF in the UK Khawar Raja in a joint statement have thanked all those political forces who stood shoulder to shoulder by JKNAP and JKNSF and challenged Pakistani authorities on the arrest of JKNAP and JKNSF leaders.

We are thankful to the leaders of JKNIA in the UK for their support and help to confront Pakistani authorities on their illegal, undemocratic and unconstitutional act. We praise in particular the role of acting president of the Alliance and president of Kashmir Liberation Organisation UK Mr Najeeb Afsar, general secretary of the Alliance and president of National Liberation Front Europe Mr Mehmood Kashmiri and president of Kashmir Freedom Movement UK Mr Ghullam Hussain. We hope the coordination and cooperation extended by these leaders to secure immediate release of the leaders of JKNAP and JKNSF will continue in future too.

Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance UK had called for the blockade of Pakistani Consulate in Bradford on 09 November 2009 to protest against the arrest of JKNAP and JKNSF leaders. JKNIA has announced that protest programme outside Pakistani Consulate in Bradford on 09 November 2009 will still go ahead to condemn unconstitutional annexation of Gilgit Baltistan, however, this protest will now be only for an hour and there will be no blockade of Pakistani Mission.

We urge all nationalist and democratic people from Kashmiri origin to take part in the scheduled protest to force Pakistan to terminate Gilgit Baltistan annexation.

We demand:

1. POGB (Pakistani Occupied Gilgit – Baltistan) package must immediately be withdrawn as it is a conspiracy for the division of Kashmir which deceitfully and dishonestly has been agreed upon by both occupants of our motherland, i.e. India and Pakistan.

2. The prime minister of POK must immediately reject the POGB package and ask Pakistani authorities to immediately halt their all actions in POGB.

3. The prime minister of POK must immediately expel all Pakistani lent officers from POK soil and replace them with local civil servants.

4. The prime minister of POK must immediately order all foreign armed forces to leave and ask all peace loving countries to recognise the "Free Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir" as a legitimate representative administration of the liberated territories of Kashmir.

5. A confederation of POAK and POGB is immediately formulated to deflect the annexation of Gilgit-Baltistan area of northern Kashmir.

6. The prime minister of POK must immediately move a resolution against this so called Gilgit-Baltistan package in POAK Legislative Assembly.

7. The prime minister of POK must immediately call all parties conference in Muzaffarabad to create consensus for the restoration of 04 October 1947's Republic of Kashmir; which was the real representative Government of Kashmiri people as popular rebellion overthrew Maharaja Kashmir Government in 1947.

8. The prime minister of POK must immediately get a resolution passed from POK Legislative Assembly to end all colonial institutions like Ministry of Kashmir affairs and Kashmir Council which have been imposed by Pakistan.

9. The prime minister of POK must immediately remove all discriminatory clauses of act 74 and summon the Legislative Assembly to formulate a new constitution to reflect the aspirations of Kashmiri masses.

We pledge to continue our non-violent, peaceful and democratic efforts to force Pakistani authorities to stop their unconstitutional, illegal, hostile and autocratic acts in the areas of Kashmir occupied by them.

"Nations fancy independence, masses necessitate uprising and countries desire autonomy"
