Chairman Convention Committee of Jammu Kashmir NAP UK Professor Sajjad Raja said that all preparations for the first UK convention of the party are complete; he hoped that it will be one of the best functions the Kashmiri community in the UK will witness. He asked all workers of the party to fully participate in the convention.


He said that Convention will be held in Luton UK on 04 October 2009 and the chief guest would be the Mayor of Luton Mr Riaz Butt. Central president of JKNAP Sardar Liaqat Hayat will specially address the workers over the telephone from POK.


Nadeem Aslam Advocate (spokesperson International Council JKNAP-IC) speaking about the importance of 4th October the peoples republic day of Jammu Kashmir and the Kashmiries Campaign Against Pakistan`s Defacto Annexation of Gilgit Baltistan (POGB).


Leaders of several Kashmiri political parties in the UK, various councillors and a large number of delegates from all over the UK will attend the convention. Prominent among those are Hassan Mahmood (member International Council JKNAP Belgium), ,Azad Raja, Shahid Hashmi, Rashad Khan, Zaheer Gouri,Ikram Mir,Srdar Perwaz from JKNAP, and Khwar Raja,Ch.Shafiq from Jammu Kashmir NSF.


Tahir Bostan president Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance UK (JKNIA UK)- JKPNP UK, Mahmood Kashmiri Secretary General Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance JKNLF EU,Najib Afsar from KLO,Mirza Sadiq PF, Chaudhary Ghullam Hussain from Kashmir Freedom Movement, , Abbass Butt, Dr Shabbir Chaudhary, Zubbair Ansari,Nawaz Majeed from Kashmir National Party, Professor Liaqat Ali Khan and Azmat Khan from Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Ali Daalat from Kashmir National Identity Campaign, Wahid Kasher from Kashmir Workers Party, Abdul Hameed Khan from Balaristan National Front (BNF), prominent Sindhi communist leader Mustafa Mahiser,ex.Pakistan NSF leaders Solicitor Ahmad Nawaz Wattoo and comrade Asim Ali Shah.


The elections for UK branch of JKNAP will be held and all new office bearers will taking their oath on a soil of Jammu Kashmir.


JKNAP is a continuation of the struggle of JKNANSF since 1966 from Mirpur Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) and JKNAP IC is international extension of JKNAP in more than sixteen countries . Soon JKNSF became the front line progressive and nationalist force in the politics of POK. JKNSF has been the only organisation in the history of POK which never compromised on principles and laid down lives of many leaders to uplift the national cause of the people of forcibly divided in four parts (POK,POGB,IOK,Aksi Chan Chinese controlled) occupied Jammu Kashmir. In 1995 JKNSF gave birth to JKNAP which is a mass party and like JKNSF right from the day one has taken very firm stance on national, international issues especially solidarity with progressive,left forces against the imperialism . Within a very little time JKNAP has grown into the largest progressive party in the POK. Its leaders and workers have left no stone unturned to expose the hidden agenda of pro status quo parties (working for vested interests of India-Pakistan in all parts of divided and occupied Jammu Kashmir and on international front through a formation of IC JKNAP.That is the reason majority of the nationalist cadre has joined ranks of JKNAP.


Sajjad Raja announced that in the convention Luton Formula will be revealed which has been prepared by the International Council of JKNAP and this formula will determine the future course of action for the democratic peoples liberation struggle of forcibly divided and occupied Jammu Kashmir.


He hoped that this convention will be a mile stone in the politics of divided Kashmiri Diaspora in the UK and will have long lasting effects on their issues.
