The JKNAP (UK) Meeting in Luton on 5th July 2009
JK NAP meeting was held in Luton. It was a reception in honour of Mr Shehzad Kashmiri Central Deputy Secretary General, who is on UK’s visit these days and the agenda was to discuss the preparations for the first ever UK Convention to be held in Luton on 04 October 2009.
The meeting was attended by all prominent activists of the party from all over the UK.
Mr Sajid Shaheen (SS) hosted the meeting as stage secretary.
The first speaker was Mr Nadeem Aslam (NA) spokesperson for the party’s international council (IC). He gave details of the work being done in the UK from party’s platform and gave all the background to the 2009 central convention, he emphasised the need of more effort and stressed that there is more potential and hoped that party cadre would produce tremendous results in future.
Ajaz Mir (AM), a senior member of the party, in his brief address praised the enthusiasm which workers have shown and hoped that the party would lead Kashmiri nation to its ultimate objective of the independence.
Shehzad Kashmiri (SK), the central Deputy Secretary General of the party, announced the decisions which have been taken by the central leadership after the convention. He said that party will organise a Dharna in mid 2010 on Tetri Note to demand creation of markets in AJK to organise the trade between Indian and Pakistani held parts of Kashmir. He said this trade is producing no results for the business community of AJK and vowed to defend the rights of all Kashmiries. He also announced the decision that in future the party will participate in all elections and the candidates will be fielded under protest to condemn the provision of accession to Pakistan clause on the nomination papers. He stressed that it is fundamental right of Kashmiries to take any decision on their future and no foreign force will be allowed to suppress this right. He praised the work being done in the UK and extended full support to the UK party cadre on behalf of the central leadership of the party.
Mr Wahid Kashir (WK) of Kashmiri Workers Association UK explained about the census being carried out to establish the existence of Kashmiri community in the UK and stressed that all Kashmiries who receive questionnaires should answer the ethnicity question by writing Kashmiri (Q-no-16) and the first language spoken as

Sajjad Raja (SR), chairperson of the UK convention committee in his address stressed the need for membership and monthly donation scheme. He said that party should not give membership to any person who does not give membership fee on a regular basis. He stressed that party cadre should also take active part in local British politics and should muster support for the party objectives by doing so.
